Charles Euil McFadden III. Maybe, this is unconfirmed was born on December 12, 1956 and sailed into his last sunrise May 18,2025. Chuck, one of his many names, was preceded in death by his mother Nancy Carol Blankenship, his father Charles Donald McFadden, and his two canine sidekicks Boomer Lee Don and Patsy Lynn Cline. He is survived by his 3 daughters, their two Andrew’s, a host of grandchildren and many many friends. Uncle Sam called him Petty Officer McFadden for four years as he sailed the seas with the US Navy, where he was transformed from a Pollywog and inducted into the Ancient order of the Shellback. Chuckles as he was known to his friends and family was a mischievous prankster, known to introduce youngsters to the magic of dandelions, by asking a child to hide a dime on their person, he would proceed to use the dandelion like a wand to ‘search for the dime’ asking kids to open a hand or raise a foot until eventually poor unsuspecting baby is asked to open their mouth and have the dandelion shoved in. Catfish Killer was a moniker awarded after years of pulling giant fish one after another out of the Tennessee waterway. He made the news once with a 75lb cat but who knows how many others there were.

If you have trouble believing this, check the slideshow there were more pictures of fish and race cars than anything really. Speaking of racing, Mechanical Wizard is who he was to a gaggle of drag racers all across the land. If you needed a transmission or a solid rear end, he was your guy. Chuck offered full service car whispering and pit advice. Often he could be seen hauling someone else’s car to the races and coaching thru the event, afterward you could see that same truck and fully loaded car hauler flip a u turn on memorial parkway to hit the Krispy Kreme if the hot sign was on. He leaves behind several magazine features, news stories and a ton of trophies. Racing was a lifelong love. While Chuck touched lives wherever he went, he was known to be persnickety, stubborn, and frequently grumpy. He tolerated people but loved his little dogs Boomer was everywhere Chuck was for 16 years then Patsy came along to become his forever fishing buddy. He was Dad to us Chucklins and Croppa to his grandkids. Oh and you could call him Chief only if you were brave enough.
