Charles Mayo

Charles Arthur Mayo, age 86, of Cordova, AL passed away January 10, 2009. He was a current member of Long Memorial United Methodist Church and a former member of Lake Highlands United Methodist Church in Birmingham, Al. He was a former member of Huffman Masonic Lodge in Birmingham for over 25 years, served in the U.S Marine Corps during WWII. He was a former employee of Doug Willey Pontiac. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years Gaynell, his daughter-in-law: Patricia Mayo, grandson: Barry Scott; and brothers: Glen Mayo and Walter Jr. (Pie) Mayo. He is survived by his children Ron L. Mayo and Charlene Mayo Martin (Gary); 4 grandchildren: Tara Mayo (Bobby Shore), Charles L. Mayo, April M. Whitfield (Rusty), and Jenni Martin; great grandchildren: Brooklyn Whitfield, Dakota Shore, Willie, Crystal, and Tina Scott. Chapel funeral services will be held at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, January, 13, 2008 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Ryan Rosser officiating. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 5-7PM. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
