We lost the best of the best, Charlie Hester—our father, a wonderful grandfather, and one of the best friends anyone could ever have. Charlie was so deeply loved. He never said no to anyone and was always there to lend a helping hand. He had a heart for people and made a difference in so many lives simply by being there. He was a true cowboy.
He was preceded in death by his wife (Shirley), his parents (Grace and Oren), and his sisters (Sue Whisenhunt Banks, Barbara Livingston, and Mary Sykes). He is survived by daughters Misty Hester and Lara Dichiara, and his grandchildren (Madison, Marissa, Michael, and Sonny), and great-grandchild (Cecilia).
He was the best grandfather to Sonny, Michael, Marissa, and Madison. He was so incredibly proud of his grandchildren and loved them with all his heart. Charlie was also one of the best storytellers you could ever meet. You could sit and listen to him for hours, and somehow, you never wanted the stories to end. We find comfort in knowing that he knew where he was going, and we know in our hearts that he is now full of joy. If you knew him, you knew that he truly did it his way .While our hearts are absolutely breaking, we know his love will stay with us forever. There will be a forever void in our hearts that no one can ever fill. We will miss him more than words can say, but we will carry his love, his stories, his kindness, and his memory with us every day. We love you, Charlie. Until we meet again.
