Charles (Charlie) Walter Brantley

Charles (Charlie) Walter Brantley, age 78, of clay went to be with the lord on Sunday, April 5th 2026

He was born in Birmingham Alabama to the late Louise and Nathaniel Brantley.

He grew up and lived in Avondale Alabama. He went to school there and graduated high school going on to get a track and field scholarship with the plans to get his masters in engineering. well,those plans changed once he bought his first car.

He blew the engine and with no money to fix it,he learned to rebuild it himself.

Sparking a love for cars and changing the course of his life forever. He got a job at Jim n Jim’s as a mechanic shortly after and met

Daryl, who would introduce him to his late wife, the love of his life Loretta. They got married and had two children, settling down in Clay, at their forever home.

He is survived by; Adam brantley(Karlie) and April brantley(Dee) Grandchildren; Selah and Elijah Brantley, Amaya and Josiah Byers. And many loving friends.

He is proceeded in death by, Louise and Nathaniel Brantley(parents), Loretta Brantley(wife), Parker Gallagher and Ted (best friends)

Charlie was a loving dad, husband, son and dear friend. 

He is greatly missed and dearly loved.

He will be laid to rest at Jefferson Memorial funeral home at 2:00pm on Wednesday April the 15th with a graveside eulogy.
