Charles Barr

Funeral services for Mr. Charles Barr, age 88, of Morris, will be held on Monday, February 9, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, with Bro. Steve Abney officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining gardens.

Charles passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at his home. Born and raised in Tennessee, he grew up on Milkyway Farm in Pulaski, where he developed the strong work ethic and values that guided him throughout his life.

Charles dedicated more than six decades to the trucking industry. He worked for Eagle Motor Lines and Cook Transport for over 30 years as a professional truck driver, followed by more than 25 years with Baker Dairy and Royal Cup Coffee, retiring in 2021. Known on the road by his CB handle, “Crowbarr,” Charles took great pride in his work and loved the freedom and adventure of traveling.

Above all, Charles was a devoted family man. He cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren and was lovingly known as “Paw” to all of his grandchildren. He was a wonderful father, a caring husband, a dependable provider, and a man whose love and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Barr; his children, Jennifer Richards (Thomas), Jackson Barr (Amy), and Jordan Barr Bridges (Wesley); his grandchildren, John Thomas Richards, Everleigh Bridges, and William Bridges; his brothers, David Barr and Lawrence Barr; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Flournoy and Ruth Barr; his brother, James Barr; his sister, Nellie Barr; and his sons, Charles Edwin Barr and John Barr.

Pallbearers will be Jackson Barr, Thomas Richards, John Richards, Wesley Bridges, Matthew Bradshaw, and Jason Vickers.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 9, 2026, from 12:30 P.M. until the service time at 2:00 P.M. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff of UAB Neurology for the outstanding and compassionate care they provided. Special thanks are also extended to ACG Hospice for their devoted care of Charles, especially his nurse, Pam Love, and to his family for their love and support.
