Brett Wood

Brett Wayne Wood, age 39, of Gardendale, passed away on August 29, 2015 in his home. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He was a 1995 graduate of Hewitt-Trussville High School where he was a member of the marching band. He attended the University of Alabama and went on to work for the Jefferson County school system for over 15 years. He was a member of Gardendale Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge 907 of Gardendale. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert W. Wood. He is survived by his wife, Mary Frances and their 2 daughters, Mary Virginia and Abigail Grace; mother, Debbie Howard Wood; sister Traci (Andrew) Walter and their 2 children. He leaves behind many more family and friends. The family will receive visitors at Gardendale Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church on Monday, August 31 beginning at 10 am with the funeral service following at 11 am. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
