Bobby Rushen

Mr. Bobby Joe (BJ) Rushen, 93 of Talladega passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Rushen, son, Bobby Rushen, brother, Mack Rushen and mother, Jewel Rushen. He is survived by his sister, Billie Bynum, daughter-in-law, Cheryl Rushen; grandchildren, Erin Bentley (Brandon), Kristen Odom (Jonathan) and Zachary Rushen (Amanda); great grandchildren, Thomas Clausen, Adley Bentley, Olivia Rushen, Henry Rushen, Taylor Rushen and Lauren Rushen, along with several other loved family members. BJ served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War where he was honored with several medals including a Purple Heart during his time in service. BJ was the founder of Rushen Rigging, Graham & Rushen, G&R Plant Maintenance and now G&R Mineral Services which services industrial plants & large construction infrastructures internationally over the years. Additionally, he was a member of Ironworkers Local 92 of Birmingham with many years of collaboration to the industry & success of many men. BJ was a dedicated iron worker, businessman, farmer & family man over the years who will be missed by many.

The family will receive friends at Jefferson Memorial Trussville, Wednesday January 7, 2026 from 11-12 with service beginning at 12. Burial to follow.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to St. Judes Hospital and Jimmie Hale Mission.
