Our precious father, Billy Adron Stephens, passed away peacefully at his home in Springville, AL, February 6, 2026.
He was born on November 13, 1928, in Newbern, Tenn. He left home and began working with his oldest brother in Memphis, TN, at the age of 16. At 17, he enlisted in the Army, where he was stationed in Kyoto, Japan. After his years of service he began his career in the grocery business, where he worked for over 60 years. He then began driving for Serra Toyota until he stopped to care for his wife of 66 years.
Bill was a devoted, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was affectionately called "Grandan" by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He adored his family, and they adored him as well. He will be missed beyond words!
Billy was preceded in death by his parents Guy and Maud Stephens, hisbeautifl wife, Hazel Stephens, and his son Larry Lowe.
He is survived by his two daughters Janet (Keith) Short and Carol (Steve) Laney and daughter-in-law Brenda Lower. His grandchildren John (Michele) McDonald, Rachel (Robin) Ward, Jenni (Paul) Sproul, Kimily Hall. His great-grandchildren Shaun McDionald, Meadow Ward, Kinley (Sam) Shields, Kason Hall, Zachary Sproul and Valarie Sproul.
