Billy Newton

Billy Joe Newton, age 87, of Springville, passed away August 3, 2016. He was a salesman for several years with various companies and a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church in Springville. He was a native of Lexington, AL, Bronze Star Veteran and described as an old fashioned, "Tough Old Bird". Billy was preceded in death by his parents Lonnie and Velma Newton and sister Corneilla. Chapel services will be on Saturday, Aug 6, at 10AM with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens Trussville. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. He is survived by his wife, of 37 years, Barbara Newton; children, Sherry Akerson, Terry Isaacs, Perry Joe Newton (Jane), Merry Lou Newton, Terry Stanley, and Tommy Stanley (Becky); 16 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
