Graveside funeral services for Bill Monday will be Friday August 15, 2025, at 2:00p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Birmingham, AL with Rev. Larry Smith officiating. Bill lived in Anniston, AL for a brief period while caring for his wife Melba. Bill lived a life marked by quiet strength, enduring love, and unwavering dedication to his lovely wife Melba for 55 years.
He was a devoted husband to Melba & she was the love of his life. The dedication that each had for the other was an unwavering love. His values, hard work, humility, and compassion—will continue to guide and inspire future generations.
Bill is survived by nieces Angela Monday, Gabriele (Jeremy) Kirby, and Sonde Coleman. Nephews, Michael A. (Leigh Anne) Monday, Mark W. (Karen) Monday, Lowell Monday Jr., and Mark Monday.
He was preceded in death by his wife Melba, his parents Jack & Mae Kirkland Monday, & four brothers, Jack Monday, Charles Monday, Lowell R. (Dodie) Monday, & Larry Monday
Mr. Monday was a native of Rockwood Tennessee and a resident of Birmingham, AL. He served in the United States Air force for 4 years. Bill spent his life in the pest control industry. He worked for Orkin initially then was the owner of Mondays Pest Control, Birmingham for many years. He was an avid Tennessee Vols fan & he was a Braves baseball fan. He enjoyed golfing with his wife Melba. Bill & Melba were members of Clearview Baptist Church, Pinson, AL. Bill loved Jesus & spoke of fond memories in attending Clearview Baptist Church.
A special thank you from our family to McClellan Assisted Living Anniston, AL for the wonderful love & care that was given to Bill for the 10 months that he was able to live near his family. We hold a special place in our hearts for all of you & the love you freely gave to Bill & our family.
