Billy Kleiber Sr.

October 12, 1932 — June 21, 2025

Billy Fred (Bill) Kleiber, Sr., born 10-12-32 of Birmingham, Alabama went to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on 6-21-25.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Frances Kleiber and his sister, Dorothy K. Hopkins.

He was a cherished and devoted husband, father, grand-father, great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather. The grandchildren called him Pawpaw.

After high school, he attended Howard College (now Samford University), then joined the Army and served in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged. He was a proud American and follower of Jesus Christ. He retired from AT&T with over 33 years of service. He loved the Lord Jesus and his family. He enjoyed watching football (Alabama), game shows, westerns, gardening, fishing, drawing, playing cards, jigsaw puzzles, and going to the beach.

He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Iva Grigsby Kleiber.

He loved his children; Susan Patterson (David), Debbie Simmons, Billy Kleiber, Jr., (Celena), and Stacie LaTorre (Pedro), and Barry Simmons.

Grandchildren; Bethany Rainey (Jason), Matthew Patterson (Kimberly), Jason Simmons (Mary Catherine), Amy Love (Nathan), Rachel Kleiber, Stephanie Breen (Nathan), Tianna McMillan (Jason), Pedro A. LaTorre (Jessica), and Blake Henderson.

Great-grandchildren; Kristian, Kaylee, Kacie, Lauren, Kade, Lily Kate, Annie, Colton, Dalton, Easton, Oliver, Harrison, Makenna, twins Emma and Libby, Maddox, Ethan, Justice, and Noe.

Great-great grandchildren; Kole and Khloe.

Special friends in our lives are Chuck and Dee Svensson, Gene and Dee Wright, and Allen and Kristie Henderson.

Pallbearers are Matthew Patterson, Jason Simmons, Nathan Love, Jason McMillan, Pedro A. LaTorre, Nathan Breen, and Colton Love.

Honorary pallbearers are Blake Henderson (grandson) and best friend Gene Wright.

Many thanks to Compassus Hospice nurses and all the staff especially Megan, Breanna, and Raven.
