Betty A. Gillespie

Betty A. Gillespie passed away peacefully on September 18, 2026, at the age of 96.

She and her husband, Joe owned and operated Gilco Machine and Welding for nearly 50 years. She continued the business after his passing in 2009.

Betty enjoyed attending church, singing in the choir and her church family was very special to her. We will forever appreciate the love and kindness they have shown her over the years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe F. Gillespie and her daughter, Cindy Cannon.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Linda Phillips, Lake Charles, LA; Deborah Cole, Trussville, AL; Patricia Bing (Charles), Trussville, AL; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on held Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM, followed by a chapel service at 2:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens, 1591 Gadsden Highway, Birmingham, AL 35235.
