Benny Carroll Feltman, age 85, passed away on April 29, 2026. Born September 29, 1940, in Hamilton, Alabama, his family later moved to Lineville, Alabama where he spent his childhood and graduated high school.
He attended the University of Alabama for several years (Roll Tide) before enlisting and serving his country as a sergeant in the United States Army during the Vietnam War (1964-1965). A dedicated public servant, he enjoyed a 44-year career with the State of Alabama in the Ad Valorem Tax Division, retiring in 2018.
A lifelong Christian, Benny was active at his church, Centercrest Baptist in Center Point, AL, where he was a deacon for many years. He also held a great passion for American military history, particularly World War II and the Civil War and enjoyed vacations to as many southern battlefields as humanly possible to make sure his young children were well-educated on field tactics and troop manuevers.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Edwina Lambert Feltman; his parents, Harvey Raymond (HR) and Gaitha Cashion Feltman; his brother, Robert Thomas Feltman; and his sister, Jane (Feltman) Jones.
Benny is survived by his second wife, Lynn Feltman; his children, Amy C Feltman, Andrew H Feltman (Elizabeth), and stepson Sam Denney; his grandson, Drew Feltman (Morgan); great-grandchildren, Lyanna E. Feltman and Landon Hanaway; and many nieces and nephews who loved him very much.
