Benjamin "Ben" Leon Vann

Funeral Services for Mr. Benjamin “Ben” Leon Vann, age 77 of Birmingham, will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 12:00 P.M. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Jimmy Ray officiating. Repass to immediately follow the service will be held at Nikki’s Event Center 1212 Centerpoint Parkway Birmingham, AL 35215.

Benjamin Vann was born in Birmingham, Alabama on March 8, 1948, to his loving parents, Henry and Jessie Mae Vann. He was a proud resident of the City of Fairfield, Alabama and graduated from Fairfield High school in May of 1967. After graduation, Benjamin attended Lawson State Community College in Birmingham, Alabama, where he obtained his Associate’s Degree. He went on to have a career at Spire Energy (previously Alagasco) for 26 years, until his retirement. Benjamin enjoyed coaching little league basketball in Pinson, Alabama, gardening, fishing, traveling and was a man of many hobbies. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend that will be dearly missed and will forever live in our hearts.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Doretha Vann, his children, Gerald and Joey Vann, four grandchildren, Brooklyn, Kylan, Jalen and Benjamin, two great-grandchildren, Bryson and MeKiene, his sisters, Mary Kirskey and Lois Hawkins, his brother, Andrew Vann, his brothers-in-law, Henry White and Billy Hawkins, and a host of dearly loved nieces, nephews, godchildren, friends and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and eight siblings.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 from 11:00 A.M. until service time at 12:00 P.M. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home.
