Barbara Johnson Hayes, age 87, passed away on February 14, 2026. She was born in Birmingham, AL and attended Woodlawn High School. She became a part of the Trussville community in 1996. She was an avid runner for years, running in too many to count 10k’s and several marathons, including the New York City marathon. She was very loving and giving and was the best wife, mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and friends doing whatever, playing cards with friends and listening to her books.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Brown Johnson and Sara Miles Johnson; her sister, Betty Ann Walton. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, George Hayes; daughter, Dianne bobo; sons, Bobby Gospodareck and Michael Hayes; DIL, Sabrena Hayes; and a special niece, Terri Walton Glass; Grandchildren, Autumn Hayes, Adam Bobo, Austin Bobo, David Gospodareck (Brooke), and Christie Renfroe (Ryan), and 6 great grandchildren.

Visitation: Will be at the Abbey Mausoleum from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.

Celebration of life: Graveside service will be at the Abbey Mausoleum on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at 12 Noon

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
