Diane Greer

On July 5th , 2024, surrounded by her beloved family, Barbara Diane Greer reached out to the hands of Jesus and entered her heavenly home. Diane was born in Atlanta, GA on December 20, 1947 to James Edward and Barbara Jean Melville and was raised in Birmingham. She attended both Woodlawn and Banks High School. She received her RN Degree from Jefferson State and retired from Birmingham Pediatrics. 

 Diane is survived by her husband and the love of her life of 55 years, Donny Greer, three children, Diane Kimberly Overton (Perry) of Gardendale, AL, Kelly Jean Sullivan (Jeff) of Springville, AL and Lauren Kathleen Concepcion (Jeremy) of Huntsville, AL; six grandchildren, Morgan Mosley (Caleb) Nick Overton (Mackenzie) Meghan & Neely Sullivan, Laith & Giorgia Mae Concepcion; two great-grandchildren, Taylor Mosley and Luke Overton; brother, Jim Melville, sister Debra Allen (Neal); sister-in-law, Carol Melville; brother-in-law, James Edward Greer (Mickey), Ronny Greer (Susan), Larry Greer (Janice); sister-in-law, Lisa Jarvis (Steve), and Carolyn Greer. Diane leaves a host of nieces and nephews who adore her. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Edward & Barbara Jean Melville and brother Frank Michael Melville. 

 Visitation for friends and family will be Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at 10:30 am followed by a Celebration of Life at 12:00 pm at Jefferson Memorial Gardens Trussville, AL. 

 The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude for all you have done for Diane and family to our friends, employers, Compassus Hospice staff members and the doctors, nurses and staff of Bruno’s Cancer Center and St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham, AL.
