Barbara Armstrong

Barbara Gortney Armstrong, age 74, of Springville, passed away on April 22, 2017. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Springville. She was a kind woman, who worked hard for her family and enjoyed helping those in need. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Nell Lively; her siblings, Louise Birchfield and Harvey Lively, Jr.; her grandson, Kevin Gortney; and her ex-husband, Albert Smith Gortney; and numerous family members and friends. She is survived by her children, Tim Gortney, Robin Martin (Rickey), Cathy Bevel (Dennis), Pennie Allen; her grandchildren, Daniel Martin (Carrie Sue), James Bevel, Catherine Hunter (Blake), Tyler Allen, Cody Allen; her great-grandchildren, Kaylee Sue Martin, Kade Martin, Maverick Bevel, Madelynn Hunter, Levi Bajalia, Mayli Hunter; and her companion, Petey. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 25, at Jefferson Memorial Trussville from 5-7pm. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 26 at 2pm in the chapel at Jefferson Memorial Trussville. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East.
