Arnold West Arnold, Jr was born July 15, 1942 passed away to eternal freedom on April 5, 2024. He was known to many as "Dickie" to many family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Lora Jean Black Arnold and A. W. Arnold, Sr; two sisters Sybil Hudgins and Cheryl Cheek, and his best friend and former wife of 34 years Claudia Frances McKenzie Arnold

He is survived by four sisters Wilma Hudgins, Jane Bradford, Gwen Brady and Lynn Hogan; his daughters Ada Christine Fowler and Ginger Rene Arnold; five grandchildren Patricia Megan Reed, John West Reed, Anna Francis Duncan, Isabella Faith Martin, Houston Adam Martin; and eight great-grandchildren Aiden, Amelie, Ian, Chloe, Colten, Kieran, John Robert, and Jensen. Arnold was the sole brother of six sisters that dearly love him. He spent his childhood in Pinson, AL before joining the US Air Force in 1960 and served until 1964. He married Claudia McKenzie in 1965. Even though they divorced they remained friends until her death in 208. Dickie and Claudia had two daughters, Ada Christine (Arnold) Fowler and Ginger Rene Arnold. He volunteered with the Girl Scouts and assisted with many troop functions while Claudia served as the troop leader. He was especially liked camping and telling stories. As a grandpa and great grandpa, he was known as "PawPaw Arnold." He created great memories for his five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He especially loved playing "Rubberband Wars" and sharing his jar of Jelly Beans. He taught the boys how to cut the grass at an early age. He was also adored by 13 nieces and nephews. Family events were more fun when he was present. He shared his wisdom and humor with everyone. Arnold spent ten years as a route driver for Hibbett Sports until he retired in 2008. Dickie loved working on automobiles, cutting grass and projects around his property in Ashville. It was there he lived his happiest life and passed on April 5, 2024. Arnold Arnold was a member of the American Legion Post 170 in Ashville, AL. He was loved and will be missed by many.
