Annie Belle Hicks

Annie Belle Jeffreys Hicks, age 84, of Center Point, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 13, 2026.

She was born in Lawrence County, Alabama, to Elbert Washington Jeffreys and Mary Jane Vick Jeffreys. Annie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was centered around her family.

In 2018, she was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. She faced her illness with strength, courage, and grace, blessing her family with many more precious years together.

She shared 65 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Donald Allison Hicks.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Hicks; her daughter, Michele (Wes) Baker, and her son Donny (Traci) Hicks; her grandchildren Devin Young (English), Tyler Hicks (MacKinzie), Brady Young (Brie), and Ty Mullinax; her grandchildren by marriage Brandie Weaver and the late Hunter Weaver; and her great-grandchildren Mikayla and Hunter Hicks and Adalynn Renta.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert Washington Jeffreys and Mary Jane Jeffreys; 6 brothers and 2 sisters.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 18 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM and funeral service at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Annie will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

To us, she was simply Mom, and she was everything.
