Anita S. Cleveland

Anita Sharon Cleveland, 87, originally from Birmingham, AL, passed away on March 4, 2026, after a brief illness. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Sonny Meadows; and her husband of 62 years, Curtis Cleveland. 

She is survived by her children, Kim (Hollis), Sheila (Charles), Larry (Teresa), and Keith (Shirley); ten grandchildren, Chris, Tiffany, Shelby, Kristina, Jennifer, Justin, Cameron, Lela, Michael, and Katelyn; and five great grandchildren, Kennedy, Sadie, Camilla, Scarlett, and Watson. 

 She graduated from West End High School in Birmingham and after a brief entry into the workforce as a receptionist at Holiday Inn hotels, she met and married her husband Curtis in 1963. Sharon became a full time mom and wife for the next 63 years. They settled in Pinson, AL. Sharon loved family time and being there for her children and grandchildren. Sharon loved redecorating her home frequently and was a huge fan of red roses and poinsettias at Christmas. Sharon also loved Alabama football and basketball and was always willing to engage in spirited conversation about her love for Alabama. 

Rest in peace mom, you will be missed.
