Amy Lasseter Peake

Amy Lasseter Peake, age 59, of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 6, 2025. Amy was born on October 16, 1966 to Noel (Sid) and Brenda Lasseter.

Throughout her life, Amy was devoted to helping others. She was not only brilliant, loving, and unfailingly funny; she also had the rare gift of making people feel seen and supported. Compassion was at the core of both her life and her work.

As a child she accepted Christ and was baptized at First Baptist Center Point in Center Point, AL.

Amy was a dedicated attorney who spent her career advocating for those in need. She graduated from Shades Valley Resource Learning Center in Homewood, Alabama, and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Business from Birmingham-Southern College in 1988. She received her Juris Doctor from Samford University's Cumberland School of Law in 1991. She worked as a Criminal Defense Attorney at the Law Office of L. Dan Turberville, P.C for the first decade of her career, then started her own Practice focusing on Bankruptcy Law. She later worked as In-House Counsel/Compliance Team Lead at Johnson Sterling, Inc, Manager of The Crisis Center Suicide Hotline, and as an attorney at the YWCA of Central Alabama.

Through her work in criminal defense and her support of victims of domestic violence, Amy stood with people during some of the hardest moments of their lives, offering strength, empathy, and steady support.

Amy is survived by her daughter, Kelsey Stapler (Josh); her parents, Noel and Brenda Lasseter; and her sister, Lori Hamilton (Robert). She was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, friend, and aunt, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life honoring Amy will be held on Friday,December 12, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Chapel in Trussville, Alabama. There will be no visitation or graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Crisis Center in honor of Amy's passion for helping others.
